Our mission is to establish an equitable food system that is just and fair for all

Agriculture Fairness Alliance (AFA)®, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit, is committed to:

Driving transformative policy changes to make plant-based food affordable and accessible for all, stimulate local plant-based agricultural systems, and support farmers in the transition from animal to plant-based farming.

As a leading voice for veganism in federal policy, our direct lobbying efforts in Washington, DC delivers a powerful, policy and food narrative changes directly to Congress.

At AFA our legislation & Farm Bill asks prioritize the allocation of subsidies and bailouts towards plant based foods and prioritizes ensuring funding goes to under-represented communities or communities that our food system has stolen from in the past. By doing so, we can help rebuild the economic strength of Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Women farmers and consumers.

Our voices are not being heard through peaceful protest, and new policies are further limiting our freedoms, so join the AFA community today and become part of the movement for a more equitable and sustainable food system.

It's time to rise up and take action before it's too late. Let’s join together and fight for the change we need.

FARMS Legislation

A win-win for under-represented farmers, consumers, the environment, animals and health food advocates.

AFA’s FARMS Legislation empowers farmers to transition away from livestock farming to more sustainable, plant based agriculture.

This federal program bolsters small farmers with the necessary tools to transition which will not only reduce animal slaughter, but also decrease their reliance on government funding long-term.

Our Lobbyists at Work in DC

AFA is pushing Congress to:

1. Prioritize making nutritious plant based food crops including fiber-rich foods, grains, nuts & fungi accessible to all Americans by increasing subsidies & safety nets.

2. Fund ranchers & farmers to transition to plant based farming as a solution to mitigate livestock disease, combat climate impacts and to create a local, healthy food supply.

3. Ensure that a larger share of our taxes are used for direct to consumer plant based options for domestic consumers instead of livestock feed.

4. Reduce the purposeful over-supply & dumping of meat & dairy products through artificially inflated demand.

5. Prioritize support for small farmers, as current programs are often primarily utilized by mega farms & CAFOs.

6. To not accept the green-washing narrative that livestock & dairy operations can achieve sustainability or be regenerative.

7. Ensure Racial Equity & Access to Funding to BIPOC Consumers and Farmers

8. Demand Strict Oversight on FSA Payments to stop the fraud & reduce the Bailout to Large Profit Spin Cycle

9. Connect Local Farmers to Local Consumers to reduce greenhouse gases used in transporting food, but also to increase our food security.
